A redesign for notes.rr2.dev
notes.rr2.dev now borrows the look of rr2.dev and is easier to browse: newest notes up front, every note by month, section filters, dark mode and a stick-figure guide.
Rahul has been adding more notes than he expected, mostly worklogs. Once there were more than a handful, the homepage stopped being a good way in: three section links and one long list. So he redesigned the site to be easier to browse, and borrowed the look of his main site, rr2.dev, while he was at it.
Appreciation from the original creator
Two weeks ago Rahul added a Latest ticker to the homepage.
On 11 October, Arnav Gupta, the original creator of sites.arnavg.in, posted on X about people forking his setup. This site is one of those forks. His post showed it and called out the ticker.
By coincidence, Rahul was redesigning the site that same day. The ticker stayed: it is now the Recent posts card.
What changed
- Recent posts up front, in a card you can flip through.
- Every note by month, with Worklog and Learning filters.
- Light or dark, laptop or phone.
- A stick-figure guide that shows you around.
Still light
Still plain HTML on GitHub Pages. A first visit loads about 40KB more; after that, nothing new. See the full speed test.
The launch video
Made in code: Chrome filmed frame by frame, music generated in Python. How the music was made.
